Meows!

With all the awful happenings in 2017, I can say it wasn't all that bad. By the end of it Puma, my labrador, had befriended two kittens. About these kittens, they were two of three brothers, four siblings in total.

Their mother, who had given birth to them in the heat of summer, I spotted in my backyard. She had given birth to them in a corner where it was cool due to the shade of all the scrap we stored.
Smart as they are(felines), she hadn't thought of what would happen if the doge who inhabited this house were to sniff their feline scent, which un/fortunately didn't happen for a few days.

Scared as the mother was, she accepted milk and bread from me till my brother took Puma near where the mama meow was taking refuge.

Three barks of puma and the meowlings were carried away by momma meow to a safer abode. Giving them food had almost became something for me to look forward to.

My mother who had at first said, very adamantly I might add, that she would not be adopting any stray cats, was the one who suggested to keep leaving some milk and eatables for the momma meowstar. Usually the food we left out was finished, however it was quite rare to spot any of the meows. The first time I saw them was during the night flitting around the garden like shadows, even managed to catch a glimpse of the popa meow.

At first they were all shy but as they grew bolder and bolder, they also became more demanding. Now they meow in their respective shrill and baritone(yellow one's) voice.
Demanding food from Puma. Good luck.
.

I had hoped to name them after the three musketeers seeing as they were three brothers and one sister. "Your aunt will murder you." is what my mother replied with when I first shot this idea towards her.
Now yell-o, is the only one who still won't let us pet him unless he's mid meal. On the plus side none of them are afraid of Puma. Unfortunately the handsomest pitch black sibling hasn't been seen for a few months now, but I'm sure wherever he is, he's in a good place. Mama Meow has shifted her abode to anther household.

Puma has feline company, hey beggars can't be choosers, now and she doesn't get uber alone if left alone at home. So yes, 2017 wasn't all that bad.
